Doom posters should be banned and SteamCharts should be removed publicly
Anybody who post "DEAD GAME!! DEAD GAME!!" repeatably in the same game forum should be automatically banned permanently. These trolls have nothing to do. They refuse to play the game, and are hellbend to make sure the game is dead by posting these negative attitude. It strays away people to form a community for said game.

It's all because of the steam charts.

These doomers are soo obsessed with "Steam charts." Like it's the holy grail. I think it's time for Valve to remove steam charts all together publicly. SteamCharts should be exclusive privilege to devs. There should be at least quarterly published charts automatically. I posted this in the past and nobody said anything now. Now, it's getting out of hand.

Those are called game hubs.

:nkCool:

Okay troll. You have zero understanding how api works. Blocked and reported.

A game hub itself is a place for everything (a hub) about the game in question.

And the player count is automatic regardless.

And you're missing the point. API or not, the game hubs are providing the same information about player counts publicly. One could just scrape that data, sans-API, if they were determined enough. If Valve is making it publicly available for everyone, what would privatizing the API solve?

That still depends on valve api. So that's three people don't get it.

It's never going away. It's not Valve API either. It's a statistic tracker. So wouldn't call people Low IQ if you don't even know how it works.
Funny thing is, the reason Valve added it in the first place is that people thought Left 4 Dead had no players because lobbies would fill up very quickly and be removed from the list.

So if the statistics are showing that not a lot of people are playing a game, maybe that just means that not a lot of people are playing that game. And there are numbers so you can know exactly how many not a lot of people are playing.

I remember it being there way earlier. Because CS 1.6 and CSGO where fighting for the first spot.

Then Valve changed how it counted by counting per Steam user rather than server data and this made CS 1.6 lose a lot of players because servers where faking a lot of players.

I'm just going by my vague memory of one of Chet Faliszek's videos so I could be completely wrong about its origin.
If game ded/abandoned then posting DEAD GAME!! would not ressurect it
Better yet, make it so level 0 (including private profiles) cannot post on the forums. That will instantly eliminate 90% or more of the trolling
SteamCharts should be removed publicly
Please ask you ISP to personally block this page for you. Solved

Not gonna happen. That will disallow questions to devs from players who dont have game yet.

Not owning a particular game doesn't make you level zero.

Blame it on moderation being outsourced to a group that only looks at reports instead of looking at the forums for trolls.
They are looking for trolls for sure.
As example, one troll got 1 month ban
recently from the Quake 1 discussions.

Why do you hate privacy?

So, it's OK to use the privacy features to hide features on a public profile but you cannot use those same features to make your profile private or friends only...
