Any reccomendations for MMORPG's?
Lately I've been wanting to get back into some MMORPG's and I've shopped around, but haven't found anything thats enjoyable or feel worthwhile. I already own a couple like BDO and ESO but have my own issues with them. BDO is complicated for no reason, and a unbearable grind fest if you couldn't stay focused at the start, so its not really worthwhile trying to hop back in. ESO is fun but its been out for so long, there's just too much to learn and it gets tedious and confusing, even when asking others for help.

I honestly would like to find a newer MMORPG that doesn't have a monthly fee, a decent amount of game to start with but no so much its overwhelming, and just a decent community. Anytime I ever try to interact with a new community I hate it, its just imposter syndrome and people who cant comprehend that I haven't played the game since I was a wee baby like them.

I know i ain't gonna find EXACTLY what I want but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here for some recommendations.

that reminds me of King Arthur's Gold, cool.

OP :

Depends.
It would suggest Turtle WoW. It's free. Great community, easy to get into. It's basically classic WoW except made better and with added new things, nothing of the "100xp / free items" kind of trash server when it comes to private.

Now I don't know exactly what's your limit of graphics and such. There's another good one for Star Wars Galaxies.

Return of Reckoning, basically 40k, active and it's a MMO based on PVP. It has PVE but PVP is king, from LVL 1 you can join the open world and PVP away.

I couldn't get either into BDO and trash like that.

City of Heroes(HOMECOMING) 100% free, great if you like super heroes.

This was basically also endorsed by the publisher of the game, believe it or not.

One recent favorite of mine :
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1180380/Stay_Out/

It's set in the STLAKER universe, it's online/mmo, it's awesome. I highly recommend it if you like this sort of atmosphere. Also has PVP.

Star Trek online is also good (on steam).
There's a bunch of others that I can't think of right now.

(Fallout 76 is also great, 1 time purchase / get it on sale) But it's more of a persistant character/base where the amount of people on the server is limited to 24 and random each time you play. But it has the persistent aspect + you can access other people's bases/places and make use of the boosts etc along with teamup on events.
