Third Party Download Managers
I know this will probably reach no one important enough to make a difference. But, I always post this subject every time I can. I just cant stand to have to sign into EA or ubisoft when I want to play a game I bought here. Steam should mandate developers to not force us to have to do this. It's not needed. Anyway, all these companies hate steam and they wish nothing more than to destroy it. Why allow them to annoy us with their garbage software manager? We are steam costumers and that is it. We even have to sign into Microsoft to play Gears 5. . . this is stupid.

not when I pay steam. Once I pay steam I only have to deal with steam. I understand the game was built by EA or what ever. But, when I buy a vehicle from a dealer it doesn't matter where the vehicle was made. I deal with the dealer.

3rd party launchers aren't going anywhere.

:nkCool:
Don't buy the games on steam if they require other launchers to load.

Either buy them directly on their launcher or don't buy them at all if this is an issue for you.

yup, thats what I have been doing lately. But I wish it wasn't required to have another software to play the game I already got in steam. Come on, you know what I'm talking about. You're telling me you like having to install more garbage for no reason? I don't believe that for one second.

Steam/Valve doesn't own the games. Thus your example goes straight out the window. Steam is first party to only Valve games, and third party to all the rest of the thousands and thousands on here.

Well, you are forgetting that the Steam software is also a third-party provider that has nothing to do with the product or the respective developer/publisher, let alone with the operating system.

The platform serves as a distribution, adware, data miner, DRM platform and also as a launcher. And yes, it would be nice if we (customers) weren’t forced into such crap, but unfortunately, many people don’t care (and even defend it), because they lose their objectivity when it comes to "games" or their personal entertainment/amusement.

If you want to have such a discussion, you should be objective and begin with the basics.

Even when you pay Valve, Steam is still the third-party store and client for any software not developed or published by Valve.
