a massive sale ended not long ago, 1-3 business days can be entirely normal as well.

You submit one ticket only. Anything else is going to slow it down for everyone. Wait patiently. One charge may drop off, as some banks may use a check to see if someone actually has the funds present, the other will be the actual charge; one would drop off. Then, if you're doing a refund you'd get the money back, and your account would correctly have the amount of money in it without a "double charge".

Pending funds and full subtracted funds are different and can vary depending on your bank & payment method used.

It's doubtful an attorney was contacted in the first place. Either way, posting here and standing on a soap box won't help them in the slightest.

more than likely:jawatongue:

just hoping that one of these days someone will try and follow through on the threat

Definitely not, anyone who knows anything about how banks, refunds, and payment processing works. They'd know it takes time for everything to line up, and a digital refund to be verified and given.

Any competent lawyer would likely laugh OP out of their office.

I recently refunded a game and instead of refunding it I was double CHARGED. When i look for forums on this issue or contact info for steam moderators have them all locked!!!! pretty freaking convenient .

I would say do a charge back, but then steam will ban you, and all your game will be gone.. Welcome to being controlled by a company.
A single chargeback won't ban your account from playing games. It will put a temp ban on purchasing anything or adding funds, but it won't completely lock you out of your account.

They aren't buying their time. Support tickets can take a while(sometimes days) to get a response.

Refunds can sometimes take longer. The extra charge is probably just being held for a few days before returning to the account.

Imagine shilling for a multi billion dollar company with excuses.. Instead of trying to enforce them in having enough active customer representatives to help resolve issues in a timely manner.

Explaining that they take time to respond or issue refunds isn't 'shilling' It's just explaining that it isn't instant like OP thinks.
It sucks what happened, mate, but screaming about it isn't going to resolve things any faster.

Patience, padawan.

Especially if one is genuinely considering legal litigation. First thing a lawyer would do is to tell OP to knock it off, so it doesn't jeopardize the case/investigation.

I'd be upset too if others were getting paid to "shill" here while I'm using my opinions for free. Oh wait, I am.

That is where you need to be communicating with valve. They deal with account and billing issues. Make a ticket, explain the situation, wait for reply.
It's either automated or the people on the receiving end are reading from prepped script. More often than not they will not help people with unique problem like OP, and will simply close their ticket without giving any meaningful help.

Regardless of what you think, support has a better chance of helping him than him continuing to post here, where the chances are exactly 0%

There is nothing here but Steam users.

I have contacted them 3 times using this method. They are flat out ghosting my request. I even linked the double charge and let them know I contacted a local attorney on the matter. They are choosing to not respond or resolve the issue. I literally have all the transaction history and screen shots to prove everything I said. Thank you for responding though. This is insanely frustrating.

The Steam Subscriber Agreement requires that you attempt to resolve complaints you have informally before resorting to the legal system. If you don't contact Steam Support when you have an issue that can be solved by Steam Support, the judge will throw out your case. There's precedent for that.

Been around for a looooooong time (since the old days of SPUF) and I've yet to see one.

My favorite one was the guy who was going to sue Steam because of an 'illegal' VAC ban. Claiming he couldn't have been VAC banned because he was using a 'VAC Proof' cheat.
I must ask.

OP, how much was this double charge?

They've deleted their posts in the thread, but before they said around 65 dollars.
65 dollars? is that really worth getting a lawyer for?

Heck, a decent lawyers consultancy fee is probably triple that for a 20 min consultation.

Doubt. X.
