Cant change online status

Even though I appear online when checking in steam guard my online status when viewed from my steam profile on the upper right corner shows that I am OFFLINE. I cant change my online status to online in the friends menu. This is a problem on steams end and needs to be fixed!

You should simply be able to switch to online in the friends list.

If this is not working then something on your end is blocking it and make sure your pc is supported by steam.

When I change online status it does not reflect the setting on the right top near my name and wallet balance. It is a visual bug that needs to be addressed by steam. There is nothing on my end that is blocking it.

I have been on steam on for the last 10 years through 5 devices. My current device has been on steam for the last 3 years. My device is supported.

To clarify. - other people can see my online status. Whether I am offline, online etc.
However, I only see myself as offline on the top right corner from my own profile from my computer.

its a steam bug. I remember this bug happening 5 years ago in 2020 and got fixed after 2 week. Valve slipping again. What a surprise.

Steam support does not provide anything useful other than the pre-made
copy pasted tech support jargon. They do not read nor do they care. I was hoping to see if there was any other steam user here who faced this issue and was able to fix it.

If steam continues on its downward spiral of treating its user base like garbage then there is no other choice but to switch to its competitors.
