Anyways if want people to enjoy good review, don't drag things on, can keep things simple as don't need in-depth explaining things, or spoil things, don't need to repeat things, don't have to share personal history, or story in the review, don't have to put fancy ASCII, or whatever art into it.
Review basically just opinion about the game, and if you recommend it to someone, or not that about it mainly, adding anything else is extra.
And this low character maximum means that I'm probably never going to write again a review on Steam for most of the games I play since these games deserve much more thorough reviews than the shallow stuff that make up 99% of all reviews. That's how I feel about this. Of course it could be that 99% of the people may feel different about this which may be the reason for this low maximum... *deep sigh*
Only one of my character limit breaking reviews has run into the sort of issue of other people commenting breaking the flow of the add-ons.
Personally I think the character rlimit should be lowered. Such long reviews rarely are to the point and contain way too much unnecessary fluff. I prefer short reviews, 1 maybe 2 paragraphs. If I want to read a novella, I'll buyt one. When I want to read reviews, I want to read a bunch in a shorter time.
Language choice won't remove the limit that you can only write one review per game owned.
Publish a Guide for the game if you want to go into every single tiny detail of the game, and write a short ,concise review of the game and put a link to your Guide in the review so people who want to read a novel about the game before they buy it can do so.
But you probably mean that people wouldn't read a guide to get information they would expect from a review. That's probably true.
