Why Don't the Forum Mods Care?

There are so many bots on the forums, and so many trolls, and nothing ever really happens to any of them.
There are people that are literally, and I mean literally, just here to look around for anyone complaining about literally anything, so they can reply with "skill issue" or "git gud". They don't even know what you're talking about, they're just doing it to troll.
And there are people that are literally only here to troll and insult people. I see SO many replies just insulting people like "yeah this game isn't for little babies like you, go pee your diaper and swap to something like roblox :)" and it stays up forever even if I report it.

And jester farmers are all over the place. People making obviously stupid posts to get points, like "this game isn't woke enough! we need more lgbtqia++ representation! we should RIOT until it gets it, who's with me??" and it's extremely clear what the intent of the post is, yet it's left up forever.

Are there even any forum mods? This place is the wild west in a bad way and it's so difficult to have a real discussion about anything in any of the game forums, because SO MANY PEOPLE are here just to disrupt things and have fun trolling and being a jerk.

There's not enough mods to keep up with the amount of posts. Usually reporting the worst offenders will work even if it takes a day or two.

Other than that, the mods are out of the loop. They're not really steam users and just hired from some other third party company.

Those two are actually the worst I've seen so far.
Deadlock is 99% bot spam, anything that's an actual discussion is instantly buried.
And Marvel Rivals is mostly trolls and people that are just there to insult you. You can post a topic of "Guys, I can't play Spider Man very well, any tips?" and most of the replies will just be "skill issue", "git gud lol", "he's so easy if you're having trouble you need to uninstall" and "just left click? lmao god you're awful".

You are not wrong, OP but this is just a consequence of being on the internet. Proper moderation would cost more money than we, the users, or Steam itself even, are willing to pay.

The Helldivers II forums were quite similar to this at the start of this year. This is what you call "being victim of your own success".

I get a notification of action being taken 9/10 times easily, but that probably says more about what I consider the "worst offenders".

They tend to only act unfortunately on the most blatant and obvious trolls. They've started to get a little better at least and i've seen them start to move threads to the appropriate forums, start handing out month long bans, etc.

They need to be far more active though which is what the volunteer mods were great at.

just use the block option and don't engage with them, quite often the 'worst offenders' are trying to bait you into typing something that will get you banned.

You still get notifications from blocked users. So when you block the guy that keeps posting things like "haha keep crying little baby", you'll continue to see every notif popup every time he replies.
For whatever reason, Steam decided to be different from literally ALL other forums and still give you notifications from users you've blocked.
