That's another thing. I never even upgraded to these new consoles. This generation stinks as far as games. Look at all the layoffs and sub par sales. It's just not the time for upgrading much of anything.
Everything i purchased off Steam starting back in 2008 is available and most are playable, ditto for GOG.
I lost digital games moving from the 3DS to Switch and my digital Wii games died with the console.
Well, that's true for those Pre 2005 games. But again, for those games i could have bought a 300 dollar micro PC lol. And still may btw. That's not the issue.
But for games like Arma and others, you're not going to play those games on that. For those i play on Ge Force Now thru my Xbox One.
I can't play this game and games like it, but that's not a biggee.

then your either spending someone else's money, don't know the value of a dollar, or never had to actually WORK for a living.
throw another €20 for 80Gb Ram. let's say 30€ for a 250Gb Hdd, 50-60€ for the Mobo and €30 for a run-of-the-mill PSU.
You can build a PC that runs Arma 3 on recommended specs below your $300 budget.
As I said earlier, fire your computer guy.
A High end PC doubles as a work tool. Something a console will never do.
I spent my own money building my PC's from cherry picked parts. You're right, I don't know the dollar as I'm English and we use the Pound. I worked 7 days a week, up to 17 hours a day for years, I'm now retired at 54 enjoying my hobby gaming, which I have done since I was 6 years old.
You can't use Edge on 360. It was always Xbox One.
My "computer guy" was you all. And you wanted to take me to the cleaners lol.
That aside though, i had a post that was rudely taken down by your bretheren, and i mentioned there even if i had a 10k PC, games like Arma, or ATS or majorly modded games, id continue to play on Ge Force Now.
These Mods seems to break everyones games, but mine. Likely because with cloud gaming, your mods are downloaded every time you start the game. And so there is no folders or matters that will screw up your games or computer.
And that's another reason if you're into mods and the Workshop, GFN is the way to go, even if you have a decent PC imo.
your quoting the wrong person, I said if gaming was the primary use. then high end would be a waste. but if your using for work that needs that kind of hardware. i read many department and chain stores were still using win 98 until just last year. unless you doing high video editing or tracing the genome.
Or maybe they just want the hardware so they're spending their own money to not be outdated for a long period of time thus able to play games without any upgrades needed for a while?
That really depends on the games. Some can eat an incredibly large amount of CPU, RAM and VRAM. Especially if you also Host.
I still don't have to upgrade everything.
