PC in general is becoming more expensive than rent money.
So, I have a very outdated graphics card, the 1050 TI, and now they're discontinuing the GTX cards. I feel like gaming in general is just getting worse and even more expensive. The new Indiana Jones game, is just a really expensive movie with one button pressing. Heck, you can't even run it on GTX cards now. DLSS is stupid and so is Ray Tracing, well I don't understand it and I don't have a 8K TV so that's dumb and pointless. I personally feel like gaming industry is slowly dying. I've been so bored lately of video games, i don't even know what good games exist anymore. I just am disappointed on PC. Kinda of thinking of going back to console.

That's outside my budget. And prices here are Higher vs the US. A 4070 is 650.

You can get a 4070 for around the 500 quid mark from Overclockers, there's even a 4070 Super for 569 quid.

4070 Super

650 where I live. That's for the cheapest model. 700 for the 4070 super.

I'm not from the UK.
Prices have been bad here since 2021.
Before 2020, High-end GPU's were 500-550.
Now they're double that :/

I remember paying 85 quid for a Geforce 2 GTS 32mb and thinking I'm not telling the missus, I just need to get in into my PC before she notices it. I had to get rid of her so I could get my 2080 Ti couldn't hide that on the bank statement. I'm in the clear though, the police haven't found her yet. :spazwinky:

I remember paying 250 for a ATI X1800 XT a year after release. And for its time it was an amazing GPU, until i got a 275 GTX for 250 in 2009.
Is this gonna end with how we used to pay a few cents for bread?

if they paid 85 for 32mb back then 16gb is going to be an awful lot now. I dont think they thought about price per mb :D

really wanted amd to be good with their gpus last cycle but they just keep messing up.
At this point I think everyone wants AMD to be good to bring back balance.

Well that sucks, I got 4070 at price of 4060 ti with prebuilt was really lucky lol.

4070 in Canada is $750+
4060 ti is $500+

4090 2000
4080/Super 1300
4070 Ti Super 900
4070 Ti 800
4070 Super 700
4070 650
4060 Ti 16GB 500
4060 Ti 8GB 400
The future is funny, make people stay on older gpus longer, and longer until driver support get dropped. We need another Pascal miracle.

650 for a mid-range GPU is not unacceptable !

I paid 500 for my 2080 ! And that's the max i'm willing to pay for any GPU.
Before I had a 1060, which I got for 200.
Intel Arc Battlemage
Eh wouldn't recommend either way since basically on par, while nice more Vram, but still kind of iffy with their drivers if comes to older games that just me.

Is that a huge upgrade over my 2080?
No.

I think Rangers already covered that part.

Uphill, in the snow, both ways? :)

(I'm reminded, though, of comic books. My oldest ones, from the 70s/80s were 30 cents. I was paying $4-5 an issue for them when I stopped, 10 or so years ago. Paperback novels have also gone up to $15-20 compared to 3.95 when I was young. Was shocked when I got a couple for my sister's birthday last summer. $40 for two schlock murder mysteries.)

Just wait for the new Intel ARC cards. Their B580s are basically a 1080ti at only $250. Gonna be a patient wait, but Intel might actually disrupt the two company high-price duel. People would be so angry if they knew how little GPUs actually cost to manufacture.

If they can release GPU's with 50% performance over my 2080 between 400 to 500. That will be a huge win for me.
Don't complain. Back in mid 90's the latest and greatest BY computer with motherboard, PSU, case, CPU, RAM, AGP video, sound card, HD, CD, CRT monitor, keyboard and mouse would cost you around $3000. And after installing the latest and greatest WinNT or W95 you'd end up with BSOD after BSOD :-))
