When can we get steamos for are pc, I sooooo badly want to get rid of windows. I have been trying to use the steam deck iso but it just doesn't wanna run like it's soppose to with my Nvidia video card. Can we know if something is in the works or if it's when it would possibly be avaible?

Probably never. People were hinting at the next stage of SteamOS for PC's, but it's fairly obvious it's for other manufacturers to put on their handheld devices instead of Windows.

And no, the SteamOS is not going to work on desktop, it's for Steamdeck for a reason.

Well, considering the new Steam OS was already leaked, and being used by Lenuvo, there is no possibility currently. It's not a desktop OS, and never will be.

Plenty of functional Linux distros that actually work, compared to SteamOS.

Any reason you don't want to play on Manjaro, Ubuntu, Mint, Pop_OS or ANY OTHER Linux which can already play games? What's preventing you from using any of those to play games? A buddy of mine plays games on Linux*.

*Actually, looking at my friends list, he's playing Arma 3 ATM. On his Linux machine.

SteamOS 3.0 is based on Arch Linux. Why not just use it or any variant?

Manjaro, specifically. It's a user-friendly Arch derivate (with Arch being the next most unfriendly thing right after building the whole system from scratch by oneself).
