You.
You can claim you don't do this and don't do that, but at the end of the day, the fact you've been phished at least 3 times tells a different story.

My reply in the other thread.
Very true, and as a user then i should be given the "Choice" if they are part of my desktop client! But , what has this to do with the discussion topic?
You claimed they were forced on you, they aren't. You have a choice in using them, but it's not reasonable to expect them to create a customized client for you with only the features you want
During the same time you have fallen victim to it 3 times. Maybe you can figure out what went wrong there.
Your network monitoring tool isn't going to tell you if either (or both) of them are lying to you about visiting or using gambling/trading/cash-out sites, using their accounts and/or yours. Gambling addicts are fairly well-known for lying, and some of them do it surprisingly well.
And relying on an (unknown to us) "network monitoring tool" to protect you against malware, keyloggers, or other malicious files that are becoming more and more sophisticated? Network monitoring tools are not infallible. Even the best anti-virus/anti-malware/firewall software packages are not infallible, or there would not be so many data breaches as there are these days.
unless your attempting to hijack this discussion topic what does your comment have to do with the OP?
It has quite a bit to do with your situation. As in, it is an indicator that this is not normal. The fact it has happened to you three times at least, is a very clear sign that you are doing something to cause this.
Here's the thing. Steam accounts are not hacked. And if they were, what would make your account more of an appealing target than that of a Valve employee or a well known Streamer? The vast majority of our accounts -- including yours -- are not worth expending the effort of attempting to hack into Valve's systems to gain access.
On the other hand, phishing is so easy, there's little reason NOT to target even small accounts in order to use them to gain access to more. And to be phished requires the account user to be lax in their actions.
So think, really think, about why you have had this happen to you at least three times regardless of the measures you claim to be taking. What are you doing that is common to all of those instances?
Its perfectly on topic, i've had my account 20+ years and never had mine compromised either. If your repeatedly having your account compromised its not a steam issue, its an issue with you and what you are doing that is leading to it being compromised.
It'll stop the scamming, but it won't stop the phishing that leads to the scamming.
