Purchasing is voluntary not mandatory and it is not Valve's decision to giveaway 3rd party games which have a price tag, that is the choice of the developer, publisher.

Ironically the store has yet to make a profit as those free games do not encourage paying customers who support the store financially and the store has being open six years.

Honestly, I'd like to see people that make these kind of posts go to a physical store and say "Hey, the store on the other side of town is giving me free stuff, so where are your freebies?".

Not really, Epic is actually pretty good, apart from the free games, it has user friendly UI, the same deals as steam, the same games. The only thing it lacks is Reddit integration aka Discussions.
