Windows 10 in "Steam" in 2025 the last year of support?

Windows 7 has been supported by Valve for few year after Microsoft stopped giving it updates. I wouldn't say it's last year.

Windows 10 "Veteran 2015" but don't forget that the hardware requirements for systems "10", "11" are approximately the same so "Steam" will lose very few clients. "Windows 11" has double the security - no "Spectre" or "Meltdown" vulnerabilities. "Windows 11" - TPM 2.0. Therefore, I am not sure about the longevity of Windows 10, although I am not saying anything for sure.

To understand whether Windows 10 will be blocked in "Steam", you first need to answer the question of why Windows 7 was blocked, what "Steam" was guided by.

Currently 43.31% of Steam users are on Windows 10. Valve won't consider dropping support until that drops to around 10%. When they do decide to drop support, they'll give 1 year's notice.

Actually its being supported until at least 2026, its just after 2025 its optional and requires you to pay for additinoal support.

So most likely no issues using it on Steam until at minimum 2028, and realistically closer to 2030

Steam stopped supporting Windows 7 because their client is effectively a web browser that runs on Chromium. The Chromium folks stopped supporting Win 7 with their engine updates this past year, so the Steam client had to do the same once those engine updates were incorporated into the client.

Chromium will be supporting Win 10 for quite a while still. Steam's (as well as the rest of the PC world's) support for Win10 will not end right away after MS stops updating it.

Why anyone would use an OS which is totally vulnerable and no longer supported is beyond me. If you’re using it offline, that’s fine but online is asking for trouble.

I have win 10 on my PC and win 11 on my laptop and i will say win 11 is garbage so i know how all the win 10 users like myself feel. I am also not ready for the switch so i may use linux or something else when the time comes that how awful win11 is.
