I can see the main menu in the background while I'm playing games in pc.
Hello. Recently, I’ve been experiencing an issue while playing games like Elden Ring and Borderlands 3. Essentially, after leaving the game on the main menu for a while—let’s say around 10 minutes—when I start the game, I notice the faint silhouette of the menu still visible in the background. For example, in Elden Ring, the faint title from the main menu remains on the screen. The same happens in Borderlands 3. It seems that the longer the game is left on the main menu, the less faded the menu elements are when gameplay begins, becoming more visible and a real nuisance.
I’ve already tried changing my graphics drivers and even resetting my PC, but the issue persists. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?

My pc specs are:
Aorus B550M Elite
Ryzen 7 5700G
RTX 2060 6gb Zotac
2x8gb RAM DDR4 2400MHZ HyperX Fury

Reduce total screen brightness. You seem to be experiencing screen 'burn-in'. Google should have several solutions ready for you.

When I alt tab the game, the issue remains. But when I close it, it stops. Is it normal in screen ‘burn-in’? My screen has a IPS panel, it’s not OLED. I bought it in the end of 2023, so it has close to one year of use. In this time, I used my LG Ultragear 144hz with it’s brightness’s default value (100%).

What I gonna do right now is open Elden ring, leave at the menu for 20 minutes, and stream the game in my tablet via Windows + K shortcut. Let’s see if the issue remains. I just reduced the monitor’s brightness from 100% to 50%.

It's not only a problem for OLED screens. I sometimes get temporary burn in / image retention on my VA panel TV, usually caused by staying too long on certain Blu-ray menus with intense contrasting colours. It does goes away after a minute and my TV still runs perfectly fine after 6 years use or so. You'd never know it has this issue until it happens again. It did freak me out the first time it happened though.
Understood, I didn’t know screen burn in problem until you guys told me, and I am starting to believe it is the main issue here. I recently changed my CPU and MOB and I don’t know if this problem happened before, but I also don’t know if I did something like these tests with the previous configuration. You know how it is, when you buy new hardware for your PC, you usually test things more ostensibly. I replicated the issue now by waiting 20 minutes in menu but setting monitor’s brightness in 50%. The name Elden ring could still be faintly visible in game, less than the previous times. When I did alt tab the game this time however, I didn’t notice the Elden ring name when I putted my desktop in a full black screen. As of now, 8 minutes from the moment I clicked start game, I practically can’t see the name Elden ring in-game anymore. It becomes less and less visible as the time passes, it seems.
