Cannot buy Divinity: Original Sin - The Source Saga
I wish to buy Divinity: Original Sin 2 and I already own the first game (Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition). The Source Saga bundle gives me an effective extra discount when buying the second one. I added the bundle to the cart. As is usual in these bundle sales it says that I will not receive an extra copy of the games I own, which is not a problem. When clicking the "Continue to payment" button though, I get an error stating "Your purchase could not be completed because it looks like you already own one of the games you are trying to buy."
This does not make sense, I have bought multiple bundles like this one and it never stopped me from completing the purchase. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Complete the Set is for those who already own the base game and maybe some of the dlc so the price is discounted accordingly.

Purchase Together is for a first time purchaser whether at full price or discounted but is only available as a gifting option if you already own the game. Note: it will still show items you own.

There are two different types of bundles. The complete your collection bundle allows for purchase when you already have items that are in the bundle. The other type is for people who do not have any of the items in the bundle, which means people who do have items cannot purchase the bundle.

This bundle?

This is a "Must Purchase Together" bundle.

Thank you. I can understand the distinction now and am satisfied I cannot purchase Divinity 2 through the bundle as intended.

However this is not a distinction Steam is making. At no point in time during my purchase process that difference is stated. In fact, quite to the contrary, I'm led to believe otherwise as the cart shown takes into account I already own items in the bundle stating during checkout "If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of: / Divinity: Original Sin (Classic), / Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition". It could and should be made clearer at earlier stages that this purchase will not be able to be completed.
But then, that can be the point of another discussion.

Funny but the question doesn’t seem solved.

I had bought several bundles of the "Complete your Collection" kind apparently.

I’m sure i also saw this message before but could complete the purchase for my account:
I will not receive an extra copy of the games I own
If they were the “Complete your Collection” type, there wouldn’t be the message. However maybe, just maybe (can’t remember), those were DLCs i tried to “pay for twice” and not standalone games.

I remembered :) This was the bundle i had the message with, and sucessfully ‘completed my collection’ with it.

That bundle for example, I own all of the items. It lets me add it to the cart but then, at the cart, I have the message "1 Your account already owns some of the above items, so you can’t purchase them again. You can purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue." and the "Continue to payment" button is greyed out. Even though it is slightly better than my OP case, it is still misleading up until that point.
And let's not mention the fact that, even though I have all items in the "Armageddon Bundle" you mentioned it is still marked as €9,99; details...

The link to it contains ‘sub’ and not ‘bundle’, so this seems to be the third type.

If players knew too much about bundle types, they would rarer have to pay extra… I think a long time ago during a sale i tried to fool Steam by purchasing some bundles in a cunning order, but without the knowledge of their types i only fooled myself.
