My Artwork screenshots stuff like that has given many many awards to me from the public which includes points.
Three times a year like right now contributing with Steam awards.
There is lots of other ways to make yourself available for awards, other than buying games.
I currently have around 120.000 points. But over many years :)
on the Points store how points work
https://store.steampowered.com/points/howitworks
I have 75,000 points and I would say 90% of them are from just normal forum posts like this.
Or you can just buy things.
Can also make helpful posts. There's positive awards, too, not just clowns.
(awards also get put on reviews & screenshots)
Anyway, according to the points shop, I've got ~205k points right now. 159k of them from awards, apparently. (have a hard time believing that. where the heck did they all come from)
Yup!
I've spent nearly that much just today on the new stuff they added.
Seems to be the easier way because there’s always someone taking the bait.
Jesters are lame. Extra Helpful is where it's at.
Oh, I had no idea screenshots could get you steam points. I saw some posts gets awarded in the help and tips discussion and most of them were something random and unuseful like open and closing the game lol, thanks for the response btw
Yeah lol, awarding people with points as a form of showing disagreement is quite ironic
Hmmm that's a interesting strategy, so far I've seen useless guides and "hot takes" being used as a way to get steam points. Didn't know reviews also get awards, thanks for the response
Without any context, this seems like an elaborate plan to manipulate the masses instead of farming steam points
You should try politics...
Damn that's a lot of points, may I say you've been extra helpful towards the community
