How do we get the trading cards this sale?

I got a trading card by crafting a CS2 badge. However when I bought more CS2 cards to craft another badge, I got Non marketable winter sale card, emotion and background.
Btw is that status permanent? Steam says they will be tradable after 7 days but nothing about being marketable.

My badge was made by crafting badges to lvl 5

I am not sure about cards expiring...

Agree, the only reason not to give us cards for completing the discovery queue is to inflate the price of the cards. They burned us this time.

True, only reason is so they profit more and we profit less, and anyone that comes to their defense on this type of stuff never answers anything about the reason why which means $$$$$$

The trick is to stock up on cards to craft into badges well before the summer or winter sales event. That way any restrictions from purchased cards have expired and won't be passed on to the event cards you get when crafting all those badges.

Boycotts from gamers tend to work great. Remember anyone the MW2 Boycott? that worked great.

Steam is not your girlfriend.

But no, it's not that much about profit as it is about all of us being already throughly trained on the use of the discovery queue. That carrot is no longer needed.

free stickers instead of cards on discovery queue and no badge for voting just more crappy stickers. I won't be making the badge this year or even getting anything from the sale. Definitely not doing the discovery queue and getting stuck with stuff I can't delete or trade.
