Steam replay 2024
Hi

I want to know how the year-end steam replay works.
I want reliable info backed by sources from steam, not assumptions because I can do that too.

When does the countdown of hours on our games stop in december?
The retrospective is available from the start of the Christmas sales.

Are the last days of December counted in January of the following year, or are they simply not counted?

Does 2025 start on December 21 or January 1?

The last two weeks of December are excluded. It only calculates from January 1st through December 15th or so.

Go by what it says on last years...

What dates of playtime are included?

Steam Replay 2023 includes all of your play time between the first second of January 1 and the last second of December 14 (GMT).

As soon as those sources are made available, we'll all know. Until then, we can only use past examples as a basis to answer any questions that people have until the 2024 Year In Review releases.

Seems like they have decided to link it to the start of the Winter Sale this year; probably decided having two separate Steam "events" starting less than a week apart did not make sense and combined them

It's live. And the dates included are the same...

My 2023 Replay completely disappeared. I had it on my Profile and everything but it was switched to 2022 for some reason and the 2023 one is grayed out now. Sad because that year was the year I played a lot of games (around 200 or so).

Steam Replay likes to bug out if you set any games to private. Go to your current Replay and replace the year at the end of the URL with 2023 or whichever year got lost.

Probably unrelated, supposedly I played 44 demos this year, but I only see one in my most played demos. Anybody else?

What is a ''new game'' ?
My reply says i've played 52 games and 51 were ''new'' but only a dozen or less were released this year. Does it mean new to my account?
