Thank you Steam. I appreciate all your efforts for providing a good gaming platform for players.

Now I hope for Steam OS for PCs and I am a really happy gamer!

In before the backlash. You really cannot expect to spread joy and warmth on the internet but kudos for trying.

Steam OS has been here for PC for a bit now! here ya go! https://store.steampowered.com/steamos
I remember steam was a villain to everyone in the beginning. Wanna play 1.6 with your boys? Needed Steam.

Everyone looked at the platform like it was a cancer infringing on gamers.

Fast forward. My most reluctant squad mates have 100+ games on steam.

Steam has earned our trust and continues to do so.

You should tell Valve/Steam about this game and their forced AD (for players to sign up for a 2K Account) every single time they go to the main menu.

Source?

It's not really an ad. More like nagware. Similar when you use unregistered Winrar after 30 days and you get that pop-up before using it.

Valve should really do this. Most PC's that are purchased are purchased by gamers in order to play games. Valve could obliterate Microsoft if they released a half-decent operating system that the average user would use.

Yeah no. just no. That is not even remotely true.
And as pointed out, this is nothing new.

what needed to be said? thanks for an update from 5+ years ago?
This is unfair and not right. These game are developed because people still play them. Almost everyone of of them provides pay options. If you don't like the ads, your free to play something else or pay. Some of us simply cannot afford to by these games. I was also planning on publishing a game I am developing here. I am a small indie developer looking to finally publish my first game soon which is almost complete. Steam has a monopoly on the gaming marketplace. This is so not cool.
yeah idk what the op is talking about, steam never had ingame ads, and now people are acting like theyre heroes for stopping it, but it was never there to begin with

Dont know if it would obliterate MS but I would use it for sure. And I guess many gamers would do so too. It would take a while just like it took a while for Steam to dominate PC gaming. But Gabe seems to be a person who thinks long strategy.

Why else do you think Steam is already working on Linux perfectly?
Why else there is Steam deck with Steam OS?
Why do think they work on Steam OS constantly?

All of it cost a lot of money and he could just have gone the easy way with MS only. But he didnt. So I guess he has plan. And since he was so nice to spare me forced ads in games I would instantly switch to Steam OS.
Now if they only banned ai slop
