Steam's failure to properly adhere to their own BAN rules
I recently received a permanent ban on a discussion forum for the following reply to a post-

"Personally the lazy writing and halfbaked story make the game *feel* woke when in reality it isn't them trying to be woke it's just really bad story and writing."

The discussion forum i had been fairly active on and had only received one warning on which i agree was justified at the time so the ban came as a surprise. The ban itself was disappointing but would have been fine if they provided a reason for the ban as they pointed left it blank. I believe now i may mention a "forum moderator" banned me. To accompany this ban *all* my posts in the discussions over several months were deleted. The bottom of the ban reads the following; "If you believe this ban was issued by mistake, please contact Steam Support." While i did not believe it was a mistake i do believe it was unfairly administered as it reads in "https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/community_moderation" -

Bans
Bans are a last resort for violations of the Steam Community Rules And Guidelines. They should be temporary in order to serve as a reminder of the discussion rules.

If a player has received previous temp bans, it may be appropriate to permanently ban them from your Hub. If you do need to ban a player, please leave a clear, concise ban reason when doing so. This ban reason is visible to the player as well as other moderators.

Furthermore in "https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/4F62-35F9-F395-5C23" it reads-

Community Bans are issued to an account when the account is used in ways that violate Steam's Community Guidelines excessively. Most Community Bans will expire, but extended or even permanent bans may be issued if the prohibited activity continues or if the moderation team finds the activity egregious.

So my request to steam support was very simple, provide an explanation for the ban, proper direction on who to contact for the unban, or unban me (i gave another which was a refund for the product but that's not gonna happen). They failed to provide any of that and instead settled for sending me the link for "community moderation" which shows that i was wrongly banned. This is ridiculous as i violated neither the global rules and guidelines nor Steams own rules and guidelines. If nothing else i'd like clarification, why does steam supposedly not have the authority to unban people when a "forum moderator" bans you, why is it optional to provide a reason for a ban, and why is it that on the bottom of a ban the link to appeal is steam support if that isn't the case? The ban feels more like censorship than anything else, which is not productive for a gaming community.

When you make the rules you decide which ones to play by. End of story.

Pardon? I own the game and was not complaining that the game in question was "woke" or not.

Owning the game does not exempt you from whining about woke.

And yes, claiming that a game is "so badly written to the point of looking like it's woke when it's not intended to be woke" is not as clever and innocent a comment as you thought. It's patently clear what you meant with those words.

Posts are also moderated based on users reporting them. The fact that a topic or another post didn't receive the same action has no bearing on how your own post will be moderated. The fact that all your other posts were deleted speaks to how inflammatory they must have been.

Perhaps, yet unfortunately you are not entirely correct. I genuinely believe the game to be bad, from the story to the characters. While i yield some of my posts were in discussions about the "wokeness" of said game, i will also say that most were not and were primarily focused on how the game killed the lore and missing characters from previous games. While i don't aim to convince you such was the nature of my posts.
Nothing about this place or any online social hub is private it's all public places, and the state should put it's boots firmly on the throats of companies that try to create feudal soft power systems to compel behaviour and speech up to the point of liquidating their holding of the companies and nationalizing their businesses, because they are trying to build something that challenges state authority to bypass the rights established by it, the businesses within should not be de jure feudal kingdoms of their own by subject to the state and forced to honor the rights of the state it grants to the people.

If people let people speak freely in public squares online they don't deserve to run their business. Public forums are not someone's home, they are not someone's business, People speaking freely isn't a physical threat to anyone or their property. There is no justification for censorship unless someone violated the law , and if they did their crimes are rather public and they are self reporting.

We should not slip into a corporate feudal oligarchy or respect the private property rights of companies that engage in the censorship industry at all, screw their rights. I simply do not care about them. Their rules shouldn't trump the law, and the law should enforce association to maintain free speech, the idea that anyone on the left would take the side of corporations treading upon free speech because they are censoring their political opposition for the moment are short sighted and slave morality.

Leftists are simply defending feudalism because their opposition is getting censored, it's short minded and runs counter to everything liberalism is founded on. If someone's stealing from your company, that's a right to remove them, if someone's a threat to yourself or your customers that's a right to remove them, if someone disagrees with you, or says something you don't like the state should tell you to pound sand and put their boot on your throat if you try to discriminate against them.

I don't disagree but while this is an inconvenience it isn't the end of days.
And it's the primary concern of almost every post and conflict in are time they were are slipping into a corporate feudal oligarchy. it's an unavoidable conflict it's a problem on the mundane and high end level. Control social media platforms, you control public opinion, you control the state, you dictate law, and expand your local governance on services to complete control. Not a country I want to live in. on the mundane level it's censoring people who criticize your product on a public forum which is scummy and pathetic showcase of zero confidence in your work. Nothing about censorship is ever for the most part good for anyone involved.

I genuinely believe the game to be bad

So your aim, either way, was to be disparaging toward the game and toward those who made it. Neither of which is tolerated these days when presented in the manner of your quoted post.

You can't censor people when they had no right to Free Speech in the first place. And that's crux of the matter. This is a public-facing privately owned forum. You are not granted free speech here.

you are on the wrong website. no government owned forums anywhere here not even the Americas army forum.
You can't state what you think the world is, you have to state and defend why it should be that way as well, you've made no argument for such so your position can be rejected with out argumentation.

Tolerated? Clearly not given the outcome. Disparaging, i prefer criticism yet some may prefer softer terms. Appropriate and fair given the topic of discussion and context it was said in, yes although for some that is arguable. Discussion, criticism, and opinions are all good things. While it was not my intention to intentionally insinuate the game was "woke" that clearly was not the message received. A fault on my part. Although let's say it was, even given what i said wasn't harsh, hateful, or cruel, and it also allowed for discussion. There is a fine line between hating a game entirely because of wokeness or inclusion especially for those who are intolerant of such things, and hating a game for the game and things about the game. Do i have an issue with the supposed wokeness i this name, no not particularly, my issues with the particular game lies with the numerous failures and broken promises. My opinion on the wokeness? They could have handled the inclusion better but it didn't affect the game all that much. Much of what i said may seem largely irrelevant but you seem smart so i am sure you know what title we've been talking about. Look at my review an tell me if it's the rant of an intolerant person or an honest review.

I am a person who has no time for nonsense. I clearly deconstructed the argument or lack there of against our opposition succinctly.

Fair enough... succinctly is not the word i'd use... go forth an savor your victory?
