Geforce Now, Steam Deck

I have just followed the new streamlined method for installing Geforce Now ontoy steam deck. Although Geforce now has no problem working on my television and phone it fails to launch on my steam deck. I have tried logging in via desktop mode but it still fails to launch and says that it's unable to connect.
The deck has excellent internet connectivity and is connected to the same network that is working successfully for my TV and phone.
Any help is appreciated as it's driving me nuts that it refuses to work.

While on your deck in a browser , go to this page...

... go down to where you see this...

And then select "Get Started."

Thanks for the help. I've tried that and it still says "there was a problem connecting to Geforce now"

I have also tried launching from Google Chrome and it does exactly the same thing.
