download issues

Out of nowhere I have started having really bad download issues but only on steam no other launchers. I have 1GB download. Only sort of temp fix I can find is keep going to settings changing location to somewhere else then for a short time it will download correctly, then slow down to zero again or very very slow or flicking between zero and a slow speed like 4mbps instead of 900mbps. My connection is wired, any ideas? I have also cleared cache

Did you check to see if your isp is having any issues? it doesnt matter if nowhere else is bad for you still check because Virgin media, London and Manchester steam servers downloading at full speed no issues here.
few times over the years isps in the uk had dns issues effecting some services and not others..

nah i said in post every other launcher is downloading full speed this has been going on with steam for weeks

yeah best not to check at all then

the virgin media dns issue with steam and certain other sites lasted weeks

ok im with ee/bt how do i find out if they have an issue with nothing but steam downloads? where is this information located? they have nothing on their website saying slow speeds on steam

no idea with ee.. contact them and ask

when virgin media has its dns issue they posted on the site about it and one rep even posted on the steam forums. it was a select few sites, steam being 1 of them and William hill.

i checked https://downdetector.co.uk/status/steam/ and no one is reporting issues with steam, and my downloads are full speed to the uk steam servers.

When was the last time you rebooted the router? ive had it where downloads go slow to some sites and just rebooting the router oddly fixed it.

My husband and I are having the exact same issue. Internet speeds are fantastic, steam downloads are now impossible.. We're both wired in. Somehow our kids don't seem to be having this issue over Wifi?
