Source 2 Ports of Source 1 Player Maps
I saw a video of someone making a tf2 map (Source 1) and then making a Source 2 version of it for the CS2 workshop (a game related to CSGO in a way I don't get). So ummm, if Source 2 is the successor of Source 1, why isn't there a tool to convert Source 1 maps to source 2 maps? Microsoft Word can convert old file formats to new Word documents, but Hammer can't take a Source 1 map and spit out a Source 2 map? Is it because Source 1 uses Valve Texture Format for textures and (I think) Source 2 is capable of using PNGs?

even if there was a "simple" converter you would still have to fix it up, the way to make maps in hammer vs source 2 is very different

even converting normal source 1 content to source 2 isnt a single click

What makes you think differing versions of glorified text processors are comparable to differing versions of 3D world building software?
you may think you can go ahead and import a source1 .vmf and call it a day,

Yeah that's what I thought, but obviously I was wrong on that
