Retro arcade games help

Hi there. I'm new to Steam and request help. I want to play arcade games (not console games) from the 80s using Steam Deck, a monitor, and some peripheral controller (like the X-Arcade Tankstick). Are there any helpful articles here on how to achieve this? I've looked around here and elsewhere, but truthfully, it's a bit overwhelming.
