Security settings are set by parents. If you want to blame anyone, don't blame steam who did make these settings. Blame the parents who don't use them. Easy.
You're trying hard to paint Steam as what it's not. Go figure why. The fact is: Steam is a game store. It sells games. For everyone. Just don't be a bad parent.
Comparing a single store to many stores is a totally different context, and saying "Well these guys do it as well", is a naive point of view.
But maybe that's my fault, I presumed others would read the context as "GAME STORE" not any store in the world.
If you don't like NSFW stuff, reenable filters and you are good to go.
Yeah its easy to blame the person and not the product, and is typical of big business.
I'm not "painting" steam as anything, it is what it is, and it sells porn, you can be in denial all you like.
It's like if you went to Blockbuster and complained about the adult section despite the fact that they have measures. Sorry that you have responsibilities?
TLDR: by default, steam does not sell you porn
