Again, it's possible that this is a DLC behind the scenes.
it's not a DLC. it's the main game.
ok, bud, show me the main game page with hours played
It counts the playtime for the launcher with all the games under it instead of the Black Ops 6 game which gets treated like a DLC even though its not.
That also leads to problems with refunds since the automatic system counts the playtime on the Activision launcher and not the individual games.
Threads with that problem come up regularly on the forums.
Its just how Activision set this whole thing up that treats BO 6 as a DLC in the Steam system.
It's this - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1938090/Call_of_Duty/
or
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2933620/Call_of_Duty_Black_Ops_6/
But it looks to be a specific issue with that game, with a weird way of how its configured with the DLC
Hard to tell as they did something funky with that game, there are no forums or anything for black ops 6, and forum appid redirects, but its not a change on steam
No surprise -- as far as I know, DLCs have no forum, and if the thing is actually a DLC behind the scenes...
Play time is only tracked on the HQ itself.
The forums are also tied to the HQ and Activision stopped caring to make sub-forums for their other titles in the HQ back when WZ2 launched.
Regardless, Activision seems to have figured out things that almost feel like abuse :-) I hope this kind of setup doesn't become popular, as it (probably) makes things like refunds more complicated when all your games from a publisher are actually DLCs so the game time is all mashed together into one "launcher game".
I kind of got the idea of doing this back on things like the Sega Classics, where they had an emulator "game" and DLCs with the "ROMs", but I think Activision is taking it too far... and, more importantly, the way Sega set it up didn't try to hide this.
They at least uncoupled the older games from the HQ v1.
