It is all about the sales! Deals can grow your library very fast.

Bundle websites, humble bundle, fanatical, etc... There are times when the deals are very good, oddworld complete collection is on for a dollar right now for instance. Deep discount or freebies on steam too

Bunles. Lots of bundles and sales.
Especially when i started out i bought everything that was cheap.
By now i rarely buy more then a handful of games a year, if that.

15+ years and Humble, Choice, Fanatical, and other bundles.

Humble used to have $1 tier bundles with multiple games in the $1 tier.

Fanatical has had bundles with $0.60 per game tier.
