You are free to not use Steam but that includes having no access to your games.
If you want full access to your games without the use of a client/app you should have bought your games on GOG.
I imagine some might have it available, but if its on steam its going to be hard to find it if they even support that mechanism at all.
Maybe identify the exact problems you're having in a Steam Support ticket. If anyone technical reads it they might know exactly what issue you're having. Could be a windows setting or something to toggle in the BIOS, if its something to do with Steam itself. Otherwise contact the developers and get THEIR tech support to figure out whats going on, rather than blame Steam for all your issues.
Closest is GoG, but they've a limited game selection.
Anything to do with this?

Lol
I had Steam infect my Corsair MM800 RGB Polaris mouse pad, it kept changing the RGB colours to the profile Tangerine, which totally doesn't go with Electric Neon for the rest of my system. The heartless gits, it is so upsetting I could crush a grape.
LOL
You haven't bought any property. You bought the right to play under the terms provided. Did you click the box saying you agreed to the terms without reading the terms first? Next time, don't.
That's the neat part, you don't. They will always be on your Steam account.
You can start buying from GOG though if you really care about it.
