The better take-away from this is that you're supposed to be able to word your point without having to resort to profanity. Choose better words, get a dictionary and thesaurus if you need to.
By altering the word and replacing u with * you are bypassing the swear filter and why you received a warning. In the future simply type the word, no alterations, no spaces between the characters and let the filter do it's task. If however you continue to alter the word, the warning would become a ban.
I am from Sweden and I have turned that filter off... and yet I still see the occasional hearts...
IE I have to manually add stuff to not filter...
The filter function doesn't work...
The world has over 200 official languages, you'd need at least 1 lector for each language involved to create a perfect filter. For the time being, it seems to focus on languages with the most speakers in the world.
If you type "TH*T" or "T***" or "TH4T" or "7H47" it bypasses the auto filter, and you will get an infraction for it.
It's kind of silly, but that is just the way it works here.
Who issued the warning? Game hub moderator, game developer or Steam Support?
I always assumed that tthe filter would be TURNED OFF if I set it to be turned off... IE it should not even be applied at all... and yet it still gives me hearts... I want to see the profanity...
The "Community Content Preferences - Chat Filtering" is for the Chat itself but the options below to "ADDITIONAL CUSTOM FILTERED WORDS - Always filter these words/Never filter these words" is global.
it says I received the message from a forum moderator
