Stop overhyping games and then the games slowly dies
I'm sick of streamers hyping every single game out there and its popular for like 4 months, and the streamers get massive views for botting and getting paid by the developers to hype the games up.

For instance

Diablo 4: hyped up game for a year and now it's slowly dying
Last Epoch: Hyped up game for a month or so and its now dead
Path of Exiles: Dead game and hardly anyone plays it that i know of
Path of Exiles 2: Hyped up game for months and it will fade into oblivion by summertime.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Started out strong for a year, now it's dying slowly, and its full of cheaters, scripts and the mods don't do nothing and this game was hyped up as well and now slowly fading away.. My opinion. I never buy hyped up games.

People stop playing games the older those games get. That's not anything to do with hype; that's the natural life-cycle of any creative experience.
I am still playing a game from 1999. November 1999 the world got Asherons Call. The online servers, it was an MMO, shut down in 2018.

A server emulator was written by people way smarter than me but who also played the game. The game has a very loyal following.

The World of Warcraft number one PVP rogue, Rekt, started his pvp journey on AC. AC, the original AC, not Assassins Creed.

Streamers can be useful to act like your ‘next game’ finders if you don’t have time yourself. That is the value they add for me, although they don’t force me to buy it no matter how much they get excited and ‘talk’ to their ‘chat’… that is called sheep mentality.

You are already most the way there by having identified that yourself so well done! Next is not needing to point that out. Find a streamer that suits you and utilise their research to find your next game and continue to ignore the hype.

Gameedged is good for survival crafting type games and doesn’t jump up and down like a monkey nor tries to bow to his ‘chat’.

So stop paying attention to streamers, and play games that *you* want to play rather than ones that are "hyped up"?
(and why does it matter that "hardly anyone you know" plays a game, if you enjoy it?)
People recording themselves playing a video game is not the issue. Most of the games I enjoy are games I saw someone else enjoying first.

Erm
Dia 4 was trash to begin with
And PoE 2 won't die because the game and community is healthy

It is not really news that especially in the last then years most pvp/pve Online games have a lifespan of approx 3 months.

That is not caused by influencers but by the mass of games which try to get a part of the cake in those genres.

I don’t watch anything that talks about upcoming games. I see something new, I research it, and decide for myself. Your sources shouldn’t involve them selling you the game, rather, them telling you about it.

This. I really don't get why it's all so hard for people.

Well first of all the "game dying" thing is a modern gamer mindset. In the old days we expected a game to come out, be hot for a few months then fade away. It was rare for a game to come out that so good people kept playing it for a few years though it did happen. These days though as much as modern gamers complain about "live service" they also expect every game to be one, and get steady updates to keep the game "alive".
This as well. People throw around the term "abandoned" when they don't even understand what it actually means.

But yeah, leave it to gamers to want live service games but complain about them at the same time.

If you are playing games based on what streamers tell then you have to realise simple facts. They get the game for free and the higher ups get the hardware and it is all about payment for them via views. If on the other hand you play the games you want to play then everything else becomes irrelevant. I personally play Path of Exile and Last Epoch solo. I do not need to group with others.

Stop paying attention to hype, problem solved.

I dont mind hype, especially in gaming magazine because irs their job to report on exciting things to come or possibly writing on games that havent gotten much press time they deserve taken how many small games being released on steam each month there are some that is bound to go under the radar.
Becide its better then whatever anti-woke brigade is doing.

You are assuming that the whole matters more than its individual parts.

I still play Fallout 4 to this day. Could I be playing something else here? Yes I could. I just bought Borderlands GOTY and intend on playing that. Yes, another old game.

Not so thrilled with a lot of the newer games coming out being affected by certain groups of people who don't have what is best for all gamers in mind. This woke mind virus for one. I don't need LGBT+ characters forced into games, either, UNLESS the game story CALLS for it.

I played Dragon Age: Origins where same sex relations were possible between the main character and a squad mate. Not a big deal seeing it was a part of the game FROM THE BEGINNING.

With so many new games being made you can't make a commitment to one game anymore if there are a number on games you want coming out.

OH, and I don't need the help of a streamer to decide what games to buy. Unless you are new to gaming you should already have an idea of what types of games you like playing.

A game is slowly going to die over time anyways. That's the way life works. If anything you should be amazed at the games that have stood the test of time.

It is up to you to keep it alive for yourself.

BTW this is why MP games for the most part end up being a waste of time.

Whining about it anywhere only get response you don't want to hear.

1. There no rules, laws, or anything to stopping streamers hype anything. Crying about them streaming anything, and everything is silly as you're whining about people Streaming overall even if like, or don't like something.

2. EVERY game going have certain slowdowns, some games are going have it worse if they're not able to keep the user to stick around longer, such as added new content, replayability content, and etc... That why you see most popular games playerbase always remain due to certain things, Example Fortnite each other week there new content added to shop, they got community workshop, competitive gameplay, events, sandbox, and etc... Can also depend on type of game, and if friends are playing, or such as those are also factors.

3. People scream dead game, often don't understand what that means, and over exaggerate what it means. Dead game would refer to unable to find a match/group/someone, or if lucky at all before timing out in queue, compare to people that exaggerate where it takes more than 10 seconds to find a match/group/someone, those people I find the most funny, and silly.

"diablo 4 " hyped up game for year and now slowly dying.
acthually
diablo 4 was basically not hyped up by anyone as anyone who was familiar with the series/blizzard politics already knew the game was a soulless cash grab like diablo whale wars on mobile.

so its not slowly dying,
it was never alive.
