Our only real solution to Windows 7/8 cancellation

Hello, all users of Windows! This is my probably the final topic I myself will make on this matter of the blocking of Windows 7/8 users from being able to access Steam after the start of 2024.

Complaining on this discussion board will not change much and bickering with Windows 10 and 11 users definitely will not either.. we have to let our voices be heard by the only one who really matters in Valve.

That's right, we need to know what is Gabe's official stance on this announcement and matter. All the previous quotes, videos, and interviews I have seen from Gabe he seemed like a really down to earth and great guy and felt like he genuinely cared about the users of Steam, his customers and he knew how we feel and could relate to us unlike the majority of most CEOs of big companies.

Here's an email of Gabe, I don't know if he checks it or not or it may even be fake, but it's worth emailing about this very serious problem directly to him as well. So, please email him and voice your complaints on what's going on is very wrong. I know I will.

For all we know Gabe doesn't even know about the existence of this announcement or he was lied to what it will be all about or falsely lead on to believe something different this announcement would have been. For all we know the person behind this announcement could have just told Gabe they are "unsupporting" Windows 7/8 and not completely blocking it.

That's the problem, we don't know what is going on, and the only stance and opinion that matters is not all the people who bash on us for using Windows 7 and 8, no. The only opinion that matters is Gabes opinion because this is his company.

I remember before Valve has made mistakes such as banning the game Hatred and then Gabe personally apologized and unbanned the game, so this gives me faith and I want to trust in Gabe.



So, please. Contact Steam Support just one time about this! If one of us tries it will just end up being ignored, but we need to unite if we actually want to be noticed by Gabe.

Contact Steam Support and ask what is Gabe's official stance on the announcement of Windows 7/8 is cancellation. If enough of us do this and consistently then they can't keep ignoring us and eventually Gabe will hear of this news and notice us.

We need to do this while the announcement is still fresh because if we take too long and don't unite then it's going to be too late and this announcement will be set in stone.


So, PLEASE fellow friends spread the word to your friends, fellow Windows 7 and 8 users, and anyone else you think would care as much as possible because if Gabe sees us as disposable wallets that can be tossed away at any time and not valued customers then I don't want to support a company like that and you probably shouldn't either.


Also, please don't reply to anyone who is hating on us or bashing us for using Windows 7/8 just ignore them or block them. All that matters is to share this message and contact Steam Support and get Gabe to notice us.. that's all that matters

Well everyone who had donkey Kong NES on the 3DS or Wii weren't able to get them on the Switch without buying them again.

When your Xbox One is obsolete say goodbye to your games when you either get a new console or play the games until your console breaks ..

How many 15 year old consoles still play games? Do you expect your Xbox One to last 15 years?

I think I am not good business for Valve because after purchasing Steam Deck I have bought 10:1 ratio PlayStation2 used discs versus ~2 Steam games.
edit: I mean, Deck is so versatile to run software....

My Xbox One is about 10 years old. And a new Series S will only cost e a few hundred. A used Xbox One maybe 100.

And given my Intellivision is not yet obsolete, nor my prior systems even though they're not being supported, as i still play my games, i'll likely be at the home or picking daisies before that ever were to happen, which it has not and never will.

How expensive is a new PC that'll run old games exactly? You don't need a 20xx or 30xx video card...

BTW how much was your Xbox One and why weren't you willing to spend that on a PC? And and Xbox S will not be usable for 15 years either...

Well, i'm still on Xbox One. My Xbox breaks, i can get a Series S for 300. I pay 50 a year for Gold service, and nothing for GFN service, and all my games will always play, even on systems no longer supported.

Console 300, 50 a year x 10 = 800
Thats a good pc.

It doesn't matter what they were "meant" to do. They do it. "Support" makes no difference, you still own and play your games.

As to why i won't buy a new computer, i don't need a new computer lol. Phones, apps and gaming consoles take the place of that.

Cmon fellas. It's a stupid conversation that Gabe could implement a simple feature and give what can be 3 million or more gamers their games.

Nobodies buying new computers in 9 months to play old games. Nobody is going to Win 11, when Win 12 is around the corner. This is a greedy move is what Gabe is doing, and needs to rectify the matter for millions.

Well Socom is being booted on my ps2 as we speak. Twenty years since this game and system came out. And i'm not losing anything. So, if that's a rental, Jim Ryan must have forgot.

Here, the games are rented contingent on user agreements that if you don't upgrade your rental, you can longer play the game.

Technically you will eventually lose the games. I mean damage to the media aside, even old consoles eventually ghave their electronic components decay to the point where they cease to function. THem Caps are timebombs.
