Changing the Screenshot Folder

Hey there,
I just noticed that when I take screenshots, they are being saved to my M.2 drive on C:. Since I reserved C: only for applications (like Steam) and Windows, I made the partition quite small.

When I tried to change the screenshot folder, as I’ve done in the past, I noticed that the option to do so is now gone. Sure, I can set it to create an external copy, but that’s not ideal since the original file will still be saved on C:.

Do I now have to reinstall Steam on my slower SSD just to move the screenshot folder? I can’t seem to find a way to change it. Under the “In-Game” settings, the only option is for an external copy, and when I check the “Storage” settings, there’s no option to move the screenshot folder.

Is there a way to bypass this issue, maybe by accessing a config file in Steam to change the folder path? It would be really helpful if this feature could be fixed so I can easily move the folder to another drive.

Go back to In Game and make sure the "Save an External Copy of Screenshot" is turned on. Should give you the option to change the folder. Only way I've found to do it so far. Not sure if you'll need to delete the ones that steam saves though.

Make a symbolic link.

Yeah, this way there will still be the original of it on C:

So it wont just use up my C: drive, but also my other Drive then as well.
