Question on what qualifies as “inflammatory”

This seems somewhat subjective. I was recently issued a warning for being inflammatory. I assume it was for the use of the term “straggot” (which while having similarities to a term I have been called frequently on both steam and steam games, is not that term).

Basically recently Marvel Rivals came out with a patch note announcement and it’s filled with absolute insanity of people saying “ty for not being woke” and people saying “more lgbt rep”.

Now I called them both clowns and used the term “straggot” and then said my piece on the patch itself. But I received a warning for being inflammatory and all of those posts remain of the things that actually are inflammatory.

Is it because the discussion is moderated by the devs?

Why did it say I violated steam guidelines?

Does this mean steam moderation removed it?

And why is it not applied consistently, as I can search “straggot” and find it everywhere…

Marvel Rivals is not just moderated by the game devs. They never opted out of Steam Support Moderation.

It will even tell you at the top of your warning who issued it.

Ahh, so it’s just a steam thing. I can literally search up any slur and find it en masse, but I have never in my life received a warning and find it personally incorrect.

I didn’t realize the devs had the option to opt out of steam moderation or utilize it. It would make sense why you can still be awful on these forums in some games discussions.

But hey, I’m just another nameless player.

Ngl, gave up since it was circular on the app and seemed to always just link me to the guidelines when I would click the link that said to contact them. I will have to investigate it further.

It's funny. I could use stickers in CS2 to spell racial slurs. Many have done so. But the forums are not so free. This makes no sense.

Please note that the N word has no place on any forum or in any game. It's been an racial insult since before I was born.
