So what exactly constitutes a "combative or argumentative" comment?
I often see people including myself get warnings or issued bans with this vague reason being assigned. It's obviously a strange rule given this is supposed to be a discussion forum where opposing views are found and well... discussed. So on it's surface the rule doesn't make very much sense. Especially given how certain people, with certain political viewpoints, are allowed to hurl insults at everyone they cross and derail conversations all the time while never getting banned themselves.

Every time I've ask moderation or steam support for further explanation on what is and isn't considered "argumentative" they just ignore me. So I think it's safe to assume it's just another nebulous rule steam mods can abuse to silence people they don't like correct?

Stop engaging in political bs and you will see a rapid decrease in receiving warnings.
If someone keeps insisting on turning forum into culture war battleground, they deserve to get slapped by mods, no matter which "side" they are on.

Simpler to just use NO political viewpoints on Steam, right? It is a gaming site, not Reddit.
In my opinion, asking for proof for arbitrary statements.

i had a sneak peek of their post history and they think all the mods are only here to persecute users with a left wing agenda, all nonsense made up stuff in their head.

Kind of impossible given how video games are being used to spread propaganda these days or are being marketed solely on their politics like that Dustborn game for example. If you don't criticize it you are accepting it.

Not sure what propaganda you mean but the way to not accept something is not to buy the product. Vote with your wallet and ignore politics.

Nah, you need to inform the producer why you're not buying their product. It's helpful information. Otherwise they're left in the dark, guessing.

In your experience, does starting a thread giving your reasons for not purchasing end well? I have not seen any "helpful" threads of that nature. Just threads aimed at supposedly educating other potential buyers.

Voting with your wallet is a nice idea until you realize that the majority of woke games are funded by corporations like BlackRock or other foreign governments so it literally doesn't matter if the games make any money on release. You as a person boycotting them does nothing. That's why it's important to discuss the issue and raise awareness instead of just remaining silent.

As Zhou Enlai is said to have replied to Kissinger concerning the French Revolution, "Too soon to tell."
Games are games. It does not matter if I play as a dwarf cleric, an elf rogue, a half-orc paladin or anything else. They do not affect my life so the argument that something is "woke" is absurd. I would much rather see discussions about clunky gameplay, shallow writing, over-simplified characters. Anything that brings up either side of the "woke" argument is combative, surely?

Fantasy is fantasy. Science fiction is still fiction. All through it, like I said, games are games. And discussion threads should purely be about the games since this IS a gaming site.

Yes! Preach friend, the truth shall set them free!
Anything they see fit, that was reported is cause for such a ban.
