Undisclosed use of generative A.I. in Black Ops 6
Call of Duty is using generative A.I. art work in their store bundles, loading screens, even paintings on the walls of the levels in game. There’s a post made by Steam (linked below) that says the devs need to fill out a content survey where they describe the use of A.I. in their game, and that survey gets submitted to Steam. Below I have a link to a Google doc showing some examples of generative A.I. being used within Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Is this acceptable to you? Is Steam aware of this? Activision does not disclose anywhere about the use of A.I. in their game. Their use of A.I. to cut costs is gaining a lot of attention and controversy online. Activision has been laying off 2D artists to replacing them with generative A.I.. I also Included a screenshot of a Treyarch job listing where in the job description they say they’re looking for people with experience with generative A.I. tools. Going back to the post from January regarding A.I. content on Steam, I’m not really sure where this falls? Is this what Steam deems an acceptable use of A.I.? I believe there should be some sort of label on the game that lets the consumer know that generative A.I. was used in the creation of the game.

There’s basically no way of getting in contact with an actual person at Valve to get answers to this. so I’m coming here to their forums and hopefully someone will see it. Any support is appreciated.

You can report any game you suspect of breaking any rules on its store page with the flag button on the lower right when you scroll down.
This AI topic and Black Ops 6 has come up a few times over the last week and the advise is always the same, report the game, nothing more you can do.
Either Steam will act on those reports or it wont.

Currently in several sub-forums. There seems to be a witchhunt going on again. And again, there are plenty of unsubstantiated accusations, assumptions and subjective opinions among the followers. Even for products that do not use AI but where users suspect it.

If there are substantiated accusations, Valve provides a DMCA form, which should also be used. Looking back at Valve's statement the use of AI is neither forbidden nor illegal in any way. Only the handling should be transparent.

Otherwise it is up to the respective developers what they and how they use it.

Dmca claim is not what you use as that's only for content you own the rights to and abusing that is a serious issue.

That's right. But could also be the case in this scenario. Regardless of whether it is graphics or code. Furthermore, i said “substantiated allegations”.

Correct.

Who says this hasn't been done?

I apologize if this has already been brought up. I don’t use the Steam forums, this is my first time. I came here because there’s no way to get in contact with an actual person at Valve to get clarification. If Steam is okay with this use of A.I. then there’s no point in getting up in arms over it, but if this does go against Steams A.I. policy, then it is worth making a big deal about.

That's not how the DMCA works. You don't get to file a DMCA takedown notice for content you don't like or that violates rules of a specific platform. It's only for copyright violations.

artificial intelligence described 95% of people on the forums whining about things with no proof or outside the scope of what the forums are meant for.

I think the proof i supplied in the Google doc is pretty irrefutable

Because if it had been done there would be a disclaimer on the bottom of the store page with the information they disclosed about how generative AI was used in the games development.

Like on this page: (just above the System Requirements)
