That being said, the Steam Deck is constantly being improved with software program updates, and Valve is usually operating on enhancing performance and compatibility. For most video games, although, you’ll have a wonderful revel in, and for those who require a piece extra electricity, you could usually tweak the settings to improve overall performance.
It’s really a strong alternative in case you want gaming on the move, but for sure video games, simply keep in mind that you would possibly want to adjust settings or test if they’re supported well on the device.
Arthritis means i dont use mine as half as much as id like due to the claw like grip one uses to use a controller.
imho get playing before your body fails.
The reason i did go for the ROG ALLY was that i do a lot of modding, something that is not easy on the Steam Deck and i just generally feel more comfortable with a Windows enviroment where i have more control over everything.
Also there are quiet a few games that dont work on the Steam Deck because of its Linux based OS while the ROG ALLY plays pretty much everything that runs on Windows.
Plus higher res (1920x1080 VS 1280x800) and better refresh rate (120hz vs 75/90 (depending on the Deck model) .
Price was about the same so i did go with the ROG ALLY. So far after 8 months still very happy with it.
Only downside is the very "meh" battery life but that was fixed in the upgraded ALLY X model which is now the standard one.
In general i really like gaming on those PC handhelds, its just a different feeling playing your Steam library games on the couch or in bed without needing to sit in front of a desktop PC or laptop.
Played a lot more since i got the ROG.
Funny timing for this thread, I literally got mine just today. It seems good so far. I've only played one game so far, Palia. Seems to work fine, though I'm not sure if the graphic power you're talking about is comparable to Palia....
This is Rift Apart running on the OLED:

If you want modern AAA games to run on it at 4k with 60FPS+, you will not get it.
Also check your games here:

If you live in a region where Valve sell directly and you find a Deck tempting, I'd say get one. Give it a whirl.
