Seems you've got the right idea, at least, to simply stop engaging with the forums. That's the best thing you can do.
Then write it on a sticky note and put it on your monitor. It would serve you better than putting it in a forum where it will disappear within a week.
My understanding was OP said he was never coming back to Steam discussions, not Steam as a whole. And I honestly can't blame him. But speaking of games, a game's forum is moderated by people belonging to or hired by the devs. So if those moderators prove to be unfair or biased, it will leave a bitter taste and make me lose my desire to play that game. It's happened already.
also not an airport no departure lounge here with no announcements required.
don't use the forums.
OP said "Steam discussions" and then ended the topic title with "this Service". I wouldn't take that to mean he's leaving Steam as a whole at all.
Just don't invest in online relationships. They aren't worth it. People online are just out for what they can get, then they move on. Have no part of it.
