Steam nazi censorship.
Anyone else noticed that steam become so much more censorship nazis? They ban for slightest free speach replies to someone who mildly insulted us. When I reply with similar mild insult then those nazis ban people for it. This is sick. They want to make us all act like polite chat GPT generated text bots. What a sick world of censorship!

Update.
I remind you that Steam gave full freedom to devs on their game discussions forum to ban people for practically nothing.
On top of that devs can perma ban your account so even when you gone for good but left your account to someone else (like your kid for example) then they will not be able to participate in discussions there forever untill Steam will exist.

I saw examples where devs ban people for days or months even for posting opinion/criticism about their game like for example mentioning that graphics are ugly or very bad and that it seems like lazy work etc. No insults, just plain opinion. Then dev can feel offended and just ban you! Steam support wash their hands out of this stating that Steam gave full power to do what they want!

Sollution should be to first of all remove ability to permaban and max ban period reduced to 1 year. I cannot imagine that any sane human would be against this!

Second part is that censorship is different in every country and Steam is worldvide service!
There are countries where censorship is so strong that you already have your mouth shut down and you may go to jail for silly stuff that is tolerated in other countries and free speach is respected.

Steam like some other platforms slowly tightens freedom of speach. But devs of some games have even more power to reduce free speach on their game forum inside Steam.

If you are someone who do not yet realise this trend then dont come back crying when you will get silenced.

If somebody insults you, either report them or ignore them, don't insult back. Disrespectful behavior and flame wars have always been against the rules.

No such thing on a privately owned forum.

Your "rights to free speech" only pertain to government.

Free speech is not a thing here and insults are always a risk on any forums.

The word "nazi" is not applicable. Users cannot attack/insult others over mere disagreements, nor can they "insult back" or "retaliate" against other users unless they accept a potential warning or ban.

Guidelines:

This platform is also privately owned and operated, there is no FOS/FOE here, to strongly emphasize you can say what you want but you're not free from the consequences of breaking their rules including content removal, warnings, bans, community bans etc.

Nobody owes you a place for your soap box, OP. Nobody.

You can go and have your free speech inside your house, not on anyone elses turf.

Freedom of speech ≠ freedom of consequence.

Can you show us in the forum rules where mild insults are allowed? And who's determining the mildness/wildness of insults?

Frankly you being unable to behave yourself isn't a problem Valve needs to solve for you. Might be hard for you to conceive, most of us can behave ourselves and trying to make behaving yourself seem like an unreasonable requirement that stifles your speech may not be the compelling argument you think it is.

Pretending like forum moderation is some new thing also isn't a very compelling argument.

Good luck on your futile crusade to normalize anti-social behavior.

I personally think it's a good thing if Steam moderators censor nazis.

Please get off your soap box. The OP is entitled to voice their opinion.

Personally i dislike labelling people Nazi’s. It minimises the atrocities the teal Nazi’s committed.

Again, private forum, no one is entitled to do anything here.

Agreed. Sometimes i have to think these folks are paid consultants for Valve in all the time and effort they seem to invest in protecting their practices. If for no other reason, it makes no sense.

Then what would the people be that intentionally stir trouble just for being angry about permanent game hub bans, they would be disruptive agitators, would they not?

I'm gonna change my tact. People here make A LOT of money apparently shilling for Steam.

Thirty thousand video games. Five thousand dollar PCs. Optimal internet. Cheat software, rapid fire remotes. 8K video. Win 11, and none of them have to work.

I'm doing the wrong thing evidently.

And so here it goes.

For shame OP.

Mr Newell, Valve and Steams moderation team did NOTHING wrong.

I'm TIRED of coming into this place, with more complaints about our wonderful moderation team, and this GREAT company.

It's ALL your fault. Not Steam.

Stop being ungrateful and APPRECIATE what Mr Newell does for us :steamsad:
