Running Steam on a ipad
Can someone advise me please? I can see my library on my tablet and the games say "ready to play" but I can't launch anything on my ipad. I can only see discussions and bulletin boards like this. I normally play STEAM on my desktop. But it should work on a tablet . Unfortunately, Steam support refuses to help me.

Steam sells PC games, not mobile games.

No game on Steam is compatible with iPadOS.

Want to play games on your iPad? Use the Apple appstore. They wouldn't allow any competition anyway.

You can use the SteamLink app to stream games from your desktop to your tablet.

What exactly do you expect Steam support to do? Develop a magical x86 emulator? Because there's no way, without magic, to get desktop rendering power on an iPad. Or any space/power-limited device, for that matter. Bribing Apple to open iOS would be a rather minor undertaking once you've solved the impossible.

The Link app is your best chance of you want to use your iPad for Steam games. You could also use another device altogether, Valve are ramping up Steam Deck production, if I may recommend one.

Steam support can't do the impossible. No PC game will work on a tablet unless they create a mobile version of the game and then you have to buy that version from the mobile store.

There are plenty of games in the Apple Store that are compatible with your device.
Not much you can do with it on Steam.

I mean, we regularly have threads where people ask how to install and play their Steam games on their phone, so yeah. Not uncommon. Even though technology is more widespread then ever nowadays, a lot of people who use it have no clue how it works and just assume these things.

download steam link from the iOS store and link it to your pc. it will generate a code on your pc and you need to enter it on your ipad. you should be able to launch games now but you will need a very good stable 5ghz wifi connection for it to work

Instead of mocking and laughing, explain and give an alternate solution?

As has already been mentioned, the only way to play your Steam games in your iPad is to stream them from your PC with the Steam Link app. The architecture of your iPad is totally incompatible with the architecture PC games are developed to run on.

Sure. Steam games work fine on a tablet, as long as it's a Windows or Linux based tablet with an x86-64 processor. (Not ARM or Apple chips like the M1.) This disqualifies iPad.

To Washell, Tito and those who answered kindly with honest advice on how to set up the remote link- thank you for your care and support. To the others who only wanted to mock my lack of knowledge or inexperience with gaming platforms- Shame on you! You give gamers everywhere a bad name and perpetuate the stereotype of the evil geek.
I may not know what button to push on a game but I have flown real world jets in real world tactical situations with real live ordinance- something you pitiful geeks will only dream about in your lifetime. So before you start casting aspersions know who and what you are about.
