Steam deck shipping/poor customer service.
My steam deck has been paid for a listed as "shipping soon" for two weeks now. I reached out to steam support a week ago and they said they were looking into it. I'm starting to think the steam support team doesn't actually do much of anything.

So ask for an update. Sometimes things don't work out as smoothly as they are expected to. As frustrating as it may be, be patient and continue to work with them.

If you talk like that I wouldn't exactly expect to get much in return.

If we could get back to the OP....

Is the location on your profile accurate? Fairbanks?

Anyway.... If Alaska is the destination, that might explain the hold up. For one, just shipping to Alaska is expensive. They are servicing the US from Carol Stream IL and using FedEx for delivery. A rough estimate would put the cost at $100+. If it were that alone, I would simply place it into the "not my problem" category and expect Valve to pony up the cost. However, the 40Whr LiON battery puts getting a Deck into Alaska *extremely* difficult. FedEx simply won't accept it. USPS has a 20Wh limit per cell. And that's just after a routine search.

I would not be surprised if at some point OP is simply refunded the purchase. Usually, Valve does not ship outside of the lower 48 for US destinations. If they do end up shipping it, I would be curious who they contracted that out to.

I appreciate the civility in your perceived tone, but no be surprised. I live in a household with one other person, and my friend lives down the street. We all purchased the deck at the same time (within minutes) they both had there's shipped the next day, and arrived 5 days later. My issue is I'm the only one stuck with "shipping soon"

Well that's good to know.

You can only wait at this point. As you can see, the rest of us can only throw guesses. But I'll go back to my original reply. Sometimes ♥♥♥♥ happens even with the best intentions. Just remain patient and keep working with them.

My other problem is they're making that difficult. They said to give them three days to open an 'investigation' at their warehouse. That was over a week ago now. I hit them back up yesterday and the guy was like "yeah I have no new information for you" they cant help because there are no direct channels to the steam warehouse for me, or steam support, they essentially need to open a support ticket themselves to get answers. Which is quite frankly, a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way to do business.

Steam is not the only support on the Internet that does not have a direct channel to them. You either have to use tickets, emails, etc.
