Sup Guys!
As all of you guys know, Steam will stop supporting Windows 7 and 8 users in 01.01.2024
And that will be effective to so many Steam users. Because a lot of people cant change their Windows because of cant find money to use it or other causes.
So, because of that, i want to start an campaign for make it never happened.
Think it like #SaveTF2
Wanna join us? All you have to do is:

1)Comment this post about your Steam journey and meanings of Steam in your life.

or

2)Make your own post with named #Save7&8Users and collect comment as much as you can.

or

3)Take an video about your Steam journey and meaning of Steam in your life, then post it on social media with #Save7&8Users tag.

Just like that, Valve will hear us and give up on its mistake...

disregarding windows 7 just cause we don't download bloat ware updates and have the common sense to purchase better security and practise it doesn't mean steam should just drop support. Let us use the games that work on windows 7 only(or more optimized for 7) and let us play modern single player games on windows 7. We don't need microsoft's pity nuff said, peace out


Anti-virus programs do not patch OS level flaws in security.

No need to bump a thread when there is no chance in hell it will ever occur. If you want to save windows 7&8 go petition Microsoft to keep supporting it.

Every OS is discontinued, Windows 10 and 11 will be discontinued as well some time in the future. If you don't like it I suggest you stick to console gaming.

Nothing to support, upgrade your OS. Steam can't support an OS when Microsoft won't. Simple as that, and its happened REPEATEDLY in the past and will continue to happen again in the future. EVERYONE is cutting support because they have to. Its not secure.

He not wrong, if want support to continue for your os the ones that were giving the support so others can keep giving support is the main one you should've complain to which is Microsoft.

Lol, no, that won't happen. And it doesn't matter how many people support you. Take the dropping of support for XP/Vista in 2019 as example for that. Heck, the uproar then was much louder than it is now and nothing changed.

Windows 7, XP, Vista are over.

But it is true you may find some "unofficial patches" out in the wild that bring security updates to Windows 7 exist until 2030 (due to credit card terminals ,etc.) . Microsoft is not taking any responsibility or releasing those patches.

Windows Vista is still getting security updates for terminals, but that's not meant for Average Joe the user...

That being said, Steam won't support it because it is a security flaw and entry point into their systems. Your decision to run an insecure and unpatched system can lead to consequences for everyone that uses the service.

If you know how to "secure" an old Windows system then you should have Steam working and wouldn't need to complain about it here.

Heck, we need to start a movement to demand that hardware manufacturers start supporting 5.25" drives again. I have a whole bunch of games that I paid for that I can't play because of the lack of support.

You literally can use any Windows 7/8 key to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
Works today the same as a few years ago.
There is NO monetary reason to not upgrade to Windows 10, its FREE.

Am jelly. I lost the punch cards from my mothers PC back from the 80's. I have the rest of her old personal computers though, sadly many have had to have their caps pulled for storage. Some day, will restore them.
