Can we keep the sort by alphabetical friend list

Now I don't have to search my friend's name every single time I want to talk to him. Now I just scroll the list and find him. Much easier. Same with anyone else I want to talk to. And it looks much nicer

Scrolling down is much easier than typing someone's name in the search.

I agree that would be the ideal, to make everyone happy. Sorting by recent adds too.

This would be the best approach, and I'd like to see like Pierce said, filtering by recent friends too.

AND...like battle net that blizzard has done many years ago...just finding people in a second that you already talked to. I dunno why I have to open chat again every time I turn off my PC and turn it back on or restart it by doing a search for my friend(s) I talk to, battle net just keeps chat open. (or more precisely, it has a little speech bubble or something like that or chat history you click on and it opens up the various users you've talked to...no needing to search at all :O

I like the idea. I dont get why this update came earlier than the broken "View Games" on peoples profiles. It'll load all games at once and if the person has thousands of games it takes too long just to load..

Do you go to your own steam profile to invite your friends??
You can literally do it from the Friends & Chat tab on the bottom right

Sorting by level on your profile looks much cleaner

It's sorted by recent logins, not alphabetically.

It's sorted by recent logins, not alphabetically.

It's sorted on online status first (in-game -> online -> offline) and alphabet second. People who are on invisible mode in the friends list won't easily show up on such profile lists now.

Wasn't the whole point of sorting by level to make this feature a competition for easy money for Valve?

Probably. Achievements have hiccups too
