you wont be getting any jesters from me
I've never had more variety in games as in the last decade.
Maybe you don't need to find games that grab your attention for that long anymore. Life and age changes the way one approaches to games.
I know my former 20yo self would have thrown countless hours to a game like KSP. My actual self can't even be bothered to put the time to LEARN to play it (not to mention any lengthy gaming session will kick carpal tunnel pains anyway)
You may want to look outside of the 'gaming comfort zone' you used to like.
It's also ok to take a breath from a hobby you're burned out with.
There is plenty of good and fun stuff to find in old games, current games and upcoming games.
There is clear evidence retro games are being played more and more.
There are also psychological reasoning alongside this.
Cost - the way gaming is going- clear manipulation half finished games- DLC prices -loot boxes- the whole shebang.
I'm an older gamer and in all honesty I pick up games play for a very short while and end up playing retro games.
When I say retro I'm talking the late 70's and into the 80's.
You paid your money you held a box in your hand and you knew the transaction was complete. The game finished and you can/could play it forever no online or DRM needed.
Simplistic model that was sadly too young in its forced departure.
Download patches galore plus content you may not need and just sits in the game folder.
Adverts in games to get you to buy more add on's.
Crappy customer care alongside pure unadulterated greed.
Online I do not play. Single player games are all but dying in popularity to little Johnny and Sarah's '' Mummy can I buy a new outfit for my character'' brigade.
A seemingly never ending daily dollop of shovel ware extraordinaire- everyone and their dog looking for a quick buck.
A toxic venomous response is guaranteed if you dare post how you feel.
The menagerie of 10 year old ethical prowess jumps out on every comment just waiting to give you the jester.
A plethora of masses that have zero idea of what a good game is.
A lasting bitter taste in the mouth on every purchase is almost guaranteed.
Bugs left in games and passed on to the next 'incarnation'.
Bone idle publishers tossing out utter rubbish at the expense of talented developers.
Acceptable low bar methods now mandatory in gaming.
Ludicrous costs that irrespective of any and all quality are founded on the purest of greed.
Demos here in game graphics there and often the actual product resembles little of it!
A monotonous drudge of low quality quick bang fodder to appease those playing on a Vic 20 esq PC.
''Oh look mummy another outfit is available, please can I have it, can I''?
No I won't see nor read furthered diatribe pushed my way to try dismantle my owned words. Save that for the playground I do not subscribe to discussions.
My answer is for the questioner .
Do have a lovely day.
