sure
you are playing the same old game or didnt find refreshing new games or you simply dont feel it at the moment, Or any other reason or combination of reasons.
every year there are loads of good games to play. its not the games its you.
You just need to find the game that scratches your itch.
And i started gaming back in the 80s. So make of that what you wil.
when you dont even know what games you will like no not really
whats good for me may not be for you..
and a lot of the games i play are with a group of friends, they dont work well in solo.
As for recommendations, I can give you a good bunch. No idea if we share the same game taste, but I do think I have an interesting bunch there.
All that said, changing the game if it doesn't keep you ain't no shame either. I've recently started playing Gotham Knights and it simply didn't keep me. At all. Instead of wondering whether I've lost my gaming touch, I've started Okami and kinda forgot the rest of the day, this thing's a gem!

Maybe really into stories, and just want a story that isn't copy & paste add more twist to it, maybe you hated racing games, and might be worth giving it another chance since been long time with more racing games to choose from now, or maybe want new combat used to slow action, now you want blazing fast reaction games. So depends on you really, and where might go, and how you experience things.
The truth of the matter is that digital platforms like Steam allow the industry to thrive through indie projects and AAA titles alike. I have always found that asking randos in the Internet for game recommendations is one of the dumbest things ever. Gaming is subjective, so one must put in the effort oneself to find games one likes. There are hundreds of outlets to learn about and research games. Make use of them to find all the gems out there.
At the end of the day, people who claim that games lack innovation tend to lack imagination.
Furthermore, most new major games suck, so I have low expectations these days. Maybe you feel that way too.
Finally, I have my favorite games and know what I enjoy after many years of playing. Other games that don't fit just don't scratch that itch. And I've played so many games that I'm not really blown away by anything that often. On top of that, improvements in visuals have probably plateaued. I mean, you're not getting mind blowing innovative AAA games anymore.
