making the wishlist more effective can help sales
off the top of my head i'm thinking it would be great if i could group my wishlist items to avoid clutter and plan for future purchases. i tend to add many items to the list to get information about them whenever they go on sale but too many items saved also meants items getting lost on the list especially during sale seasons. being able to group the items and perhaps a more visually friendly ui with drag and drops and ability to leave notes and reminders can turn the simple wishlist we have into a powerful tool for organized gaming and library management.

You do know there is a drop down menu when you click the options button where you can sort the wishlist?

ooh i like that idea .. I think OP means more like sub-folders, at least that is what I am thinking about right now - instead of having one long list I'd have them in folders like "high priority" or "for some day" or "if drops under 10$" etc or one for games i wanna look at later in detail and am not sure about buying/putting on wishlist in the first place ( but no time now and will definitely forget about it )

While I certainly would like to have more options in the wishlist, I can't say that the wishlist really is an issue during a sale. I always rank my wishlist and during a sale I just set the filter to "on sale", scroll through the wishlist and put any game that I might be interested in on a different tab. When done I go through the tabs and add the stuff I like to the cart. Then at a later time I go through teh cart and do the final culling to come to the definitive cart I purchase.

It's always a multistep process for me, but I've been doing this for years now. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Options in the wishlist I'd like would be the ability to have multiple wishlists, with the option to set privacy levels, the option to add games I own to a wishlist and collections. Basically, I'd like to create extra, private wishlists with games that I can gift my kids.

...I just sort by discount. :slimetabby:

But more customization is always nice.

I very much want this. I have to go steamdb to do this.

I agree with these ideas. It is definitely a necessity that I share with. For both the Steam Client and Mobile App.

It would be interesting to see improvements regarding the Wishlist page, by adding a functionality that would allow to organize our entries according categories created by the user (similar to the function available in the library).

For example, the user might want to organize the list according some ideas:
Priorities
Survivor Genre
Fighter Genre
Sports Genre
Racing Genre
Final Fantasy Theme
(etc, etc)

Particular useful when your list is long. Otherwise, without any kind of this functionality, the list just becomes a mess and ineffective.

🤯 and I thought I was having troubles dealing with my ~100 😄

It seems something so basic. How come it never happened?

I browse through the Discovery queue and add games that remotely interest me to my Wishlist, where I wait for a sale. I've never had to pay full price any games. :)
