Run 2 different games on 2 different computers
I have 2 different systems that I use for games, I have a windows 10 laptop and a mac, running Windows 10. I play GTA V on my Mac and I have been idling Clicker Heroes online on my Windows computer, but since Flash Player has ended, I can't play Clicker Heroes online anymore, so I play it through Steam.
Is there a way to play Clicker Heroes on my Windows and GTA V on my Mac simultaneously?

And yet developers keep putting their games on the Epic launcher. Please elaborate on the perceived abuse? IMO this is no different from the physical media days where only one person could play the game at a time even if it were installed on more than one machine.

Family sharing has a user and device limit. I still don't see any reason for Steam to not allow me to play more than one game at a time. Especially F2P games.

A lot of dev's don't put their titles on Epic, and many of those who do get paid by epic to do so with their exclusives.

Same reason many developers don't put their games on GoG.

Doesn't matter if family sharing is restricted to 5 devices, that's still potentially 5 people that can abuse it and its already widely abused so don't expect it to be made any easier to abuse.

I honestly want a working way. I have a Steam Deck and a PC and tried playing something on one and a different game on the deck but got logged out of both so I reset my password. I run linux mint on my pc. I hope there is a fix for this instead of toggling between online and offline. It's my account I pay for the license keys for the games I own. I got rid of my Xbox and Playstation after dealing with their loopholes that they have. My S.O. Is playing Baulder's Gate but I want to play a separate game on my Steam deck. And don't want to corrupt their save. I hate modern gaming always having to need an online internet connection for the littlest of things. Call me old fashioned but let me download my game and that is that. Also my account should be allowed to be signed into multiple devices and play games from said account on any device without question.

Your SO should play the game on his/her account using familly sharing while you play on the steam deck.

What "fix" would be applied if it is working as Valve intended?

There are million reasons not to allow more than one person to access game library at a time, many listed on this very thread. It's actually miracle the system exists at all really.

You can always make another account for F2P games and play those on one computer while using your payed games account on another PC.

We share a home PC. They mostly play console (i.e. Nintendo mostly) and we use my account to play games. They don't want to make an account I asked. And I would hate to just at random create 2 accounts for just one game.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
