ok need to upload a photo here, imagine steam allow u to do that
basically, when running a new game, a game that got updated, I must see this screen. the game won't actually start until I click on the ok button.
as I said, I used to click on run the game and get back to set relaxed to play, as I always only play with a controller. this useless info screen is bad and too unnecessary
I won't buy games on steam now unless I have no option. I recently bought Cyberpunk and I specifically chose to buy it on GOG rather than steam because of stupid ♥♥♥♥ like this.
I do play with a controller sometimes, and it autoconects when I plug it into the computer. (I don't use wireless controllers, only wired.) No VR set anywhere near any of my machines, since I can't use VR anymore.
Someone else asked it you had checked your Steam settings. By default I have everything disabled in Steam settings for controllers, and I only enable what I need when I plan on using one. Here's what my settings look like: https://prnt.sc/8QXHKu_Mkovr
I am not sure if that's why I never see this controller prompt on Steam, ever. But maybe?
It's happened when starting Star Wars Jedi Survivor and The Last of Us. It has never happened with prodigal though, or the recent Portal mod. It seems to be something that the game developers opt in to, but it is handled by steam and is part of the steam interface and appears similar to EULAs and dialogues that ask you which version of the game to load and other similar things.
