username got removed today

i have had my name as "domestic_abuser48" for over a year (since august 11, 2022) and it got removed today (november 16, 2023, that's 462 days). a few hundred people have seen my name in-game and steam support has contacted me several times since then. was this an accident?

Kind of odd that you're defending it.

Why would I be offended by it? Well not that it's any of your business but personally I find it offensive because about 15 years ago I was physically & emotionally abused multiple times by the girl who was my girlfriend at the time and who was living with me. She was what you might call a.. domestic abuser.

So while it's not directed at anyone in particular and doesn't include any names and isn't racist, it's still an offensive and frankly pretty scummy name to decide to go with for a username.

yeah, nobody has ever been offended by my username. the only time anyone has been offended by my profile was in 2022 when someone was offended by my avatar, the same one i have today.

I personally find it offensive.

Secondly i can guarantee that anyone who has suffered from your very poor choice of a profile name will disagree.

More importantly despite your objections Steam Support removed it.
