Steam Deck OLED purchasing error "There seems to have been an error initializing"

Anyone else having issues purchasing? It goes to the shipping info and then just keeps bouncing back an error in orange reading: "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."'

Anyone manage to make a purchase?



UPDATE: "Your order cannot be completed because one or more items in your cart is currently out of stock. Please try again later."

Took me over half an hour but I managed to get the OLED Limited edition.
They said it went out of stock twice - then said you made too many attempts to purchase - then it glitched again and reset.

Seems their servers are total garbage and they have little to no common sense on predicting trouble.

Keep trying I guess is all you can do - managed to bag one at least.

BTW - Used Credit Card - not paypal.

Don't give up. I just successfully purchased at a 1TB at 1:35pm EST. I thought that it was going to completely fail because, while I was in the payment screen, the error was alternating between messages like 'out of stock' and 'you have tried to make too many purchases recently'

Got same error, once even got out of stock error but managed to finally buy one.

Finally went through, but order is pending for the 512gb version.

Bought with Steam Wallet and hasn't subtracted from it yet, and it's still in my cart... so Idk.

Got it through, after having gotten indicated that both models were out of stock, my order has been accepted now, credit card order works miles better than paypal!
Paypal is hammered by orders and has transaction problems as it seems!
So I can recommend use credit card payment, and if you get an out of stock message, this might only be temporary!

Finally went through after 45 minutes of trying. Only went through after I changed my payment method. So you might try that if you're still having trouble.

Purchased the 1TB non-limited edition version.

Yeah I also got stuck at the shipping info page getting the error. Around 1:20pm EST, I managed to get to the payment page and hit another error a few times. I managed to get past that to the 3rd and final page only to get another error telling me that I got an error and my order didn't go through. After a few times of that happening, I got a new error stating that I was trying to buy something too many times and timed me out.

I had to leave for work and I tried to order the Limited Edition OLED on my phone and I got about half way through the purchase and then got an error stating that the LE OLED Steam Deck was now out of stock. I was pissed! I gave up and after a little while, I thought to myself "♥♥♥♥ it" and decided to try again anyways just to see what would happen. To my surprise it was saying I could order one still and managed to snag my LE OLED while driving lol.

I also own the $650 LCD Steam Deck. I always felt the LCD screen was awful, so this was a must buy for me. I have a Alienware OLED ultrwide and an OLED Switch that I got from the Nintendo Store of America in NYC on a trip. So I know how much of a difference having a good OLED screen makes.

I hope most of the LE OLEDs made it into the hands of actual people planning on keeping them and not Scalpers!

Saddly there will always be "those people" - but I managed to get my hands on one as I said earlier - hopefully it will be worth the 750 USD I spent on it. :P (limited edition)

I'll find out if I'm eating my shoes or not when it arrives.
