All things new take some getting used to.

But why the hell are the community and discussions features so buried in the app, when they were easily accessible.

First thing that pops up should be my social features and discussion notifications, not my wish list.

I personally do say finally The App got useful..before The Design i Had problems doing The Desktop Thing in my oppo Here. Now i can also finally do Open discussion as Well. You should get used to it. Its new way is kinda terrible, but yeah anyway more useful so dont Care for it. Old Version was terrible as hell, but Had nice overlay.

I know, it's like they are trying to sell us games or something. Instead of just focusing on their core business of providing ad-free message boards for every game that Epic, Ubisoft and EA don't have as exclusives! How dare they!

You should go into the settings menu (bottom-left hamburger button) and reselect the tabs. For whatever reason they are going with the Mac/iOS design setup even on Android devices.

You can pick what each of the four tabs is. If you prefer to shop only on the desktop client don't make Store one of your four tabs. You select which tab down at the bottom of the screen.

I'm guessing the iOS-esque design was chosen because they are dominant in the U.S. for portable devices. For the rest of the world it's Android.

In any case you can hide the store or put it on the last tab if you don't want to have to maneuver past it.

Had to check the app out.

Very poor design.

Will not keep the steam guard code open always reverts the the garbage qr code screen even when camera access is denied. So when the camera access is denied it needs to skip the stupid qr code page

Make the guard code page default or let us choose which one it shows. No apps I have get camera or mic permissions ever.

It also did not send a code to verify login. I bet the scammers are running wild with this thing,

Are you sure about that?
I see no change to discussions, besides the user interface to get to them and unnecessarily bigger text, so I'm forced to scroll mucho more frequently which becomes especially problematic and frustrating whenever I'm typing quite a long response..
Say, about three or more paragraphs with each having over ~200 words.

I see nothing positive in the new Patch.
However, I still hope that they'll allow us to choose between this and the older versions..

edit : where the ♥♥♥♥ do i even get a "steam QR code" from?
it says "scan a steam qr code to sign in" and then it opens the camera but where the ♥♥♥♥ do i find one?

edit 2 : meanwhile, there's a notification icon in the app, tells me there are "5 new comments" and i tap it and it brings up a list of all the threads in my histroy and none of them are highlighted to let me know which ones it is referring to.
and then i cleared all the notifications on the desktop app (which i'm typing on right now), and the mobile app is still saying that there are 5 new comments, when i cleared it.

in the "authenticator", it does have another button says tap here to show a code and i tap there and it shows a code and then it says "okay, now enter the code" and there is no indicator of "where" to enter the code, like wtf.


edit 3 : and somehow, i'm now logged in on the mobile app, so i dunno what the authenticator is even for. I guess i don't "need" to do that after all, but still wtf with the new design.

and forced portrait mode still sux ass when i always used it in landscape mode, it's jarring to force me to adjust to a new perspective

edit 4 : like, the old version of the app allowed me to rotate my device and look at it sideways or upright and it would turn in all 4 directions, now the "new and improved" app only lets me look at it in portrait mode and won't even rotate at all.
i can only look at it with my ipad oriented so the charger is at the bottom of the screen and only that way and no other way.
how the ♥♥♥♥ is that an "improvement"?!

it's true that people "get used to it", but it always makes me wonder why they do this.

like why, whenever developers do a major update, they change the entire UI, moving buttons around, changing icons commands and gestures and stuff.
this is the reason i don't like to update windows, and i don't like to update ios. . .until they just force it on me with an automatic update.

like "oh yeah, that feature you liked? gone!, you don't need that. WE think it's better this way!"

like, ever heard the saying "if it's not broken, don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix it"?

yeah, I'll "get used to it", but it feels like if i was living in a country that spoke, i dunno . . .latin. . and one day, the govt just said (in latin) "alright folks, we're not gonna speak latin anymore. we're speaking Greek now. It's better this way. You'll get used to it. . ."


meawhile, they are sitting up there, in their ivory towers, immune to our cries.

I suspect it's because these guys are all working for like, corporate bosses and executives and the execs always expect them to always be working. always coming u with new ideas and new ways to "improve" the app and if they are not, then it's lieke "wtf am i paying ya's for? you're all fired!"
so they have to constantly keep busy, throwing spaghetti at the wall, shoehorning in whatever "improvements they think will keep them teir jobs security. .
